Six Days in Fallujah' Developer still searching for Publisher

June 9, 2009 - Six Days in Fallujah, a realistic shooter based on the 2004 battle for the Iraqi city of Fallujah, was cut by Konami soon after its announcement back in April 2009. Much has been speculated about what would happen to the game, or if any publisher would take a risk on the unfinished project.

Now, some news has surfaced suggesting the game could still see the light of day.

Peter Tamte, president of Atomic Games, recently told Newsweek the studio has seen interest from other game publishers to help get his game onto store shelves. But nothing is official just yet.

"We have a lot of people who are interested in the project," Tamte says. "But I'll feel better when we sign something and the checks start coming."

Considering the project reportedly still needs a few million dollars to be completed - raising total costs to around $20 million - the studio is at risk of being in major financial trouble should the game be put on hold forever.

"If for some reason it doesn't work, we'll have to think about making some very significant changes to the studio," he added.

Bad press is still good press, so it shouldn't be surprising when a smaller, lesser-known publisher picks up this game eventually.

  • PS3 System Software Update (v4.10)
Hi, everyone. We are releasing a new system software update (v4.10) for PlayStation 3 today that will include a few minor changes that we want to make you all aware of. First off, once you download the new system software, you will be asked to accept a change to our Terms of Service. In an effort for more unity between PlayStation Network (PSN) and other Sony Entertainment Network services, your “PSN Account” will now be named “Sony Entertainment Network Account.” Please note that this change is one in name only and will not change the PSN that you know and love. You’ll still play games online, still have access to the latest downloadable games and add-ons, and still experience a wide variety of movies, sports and music across PSN. With this system software update (v4.10), we’ll also be updating the PS3 Internet Browser with improved display speed.
  • PlayStation Store Update

In addition, side-scrolling action comes in two flavors this week. For brutal combat action, you’ll want to check out Shank 2. For classic four-player co-op beat em ‘ups, download The Simpsons Arcade Game.
